You can schedule an appointment by calling us (03 746 04 22), emailing us (info@peakphysio.be) or by booking directly through our online calender.
We believe it is important to take enough time to understand your story and conduct a thorough clinical examination before beginning treatment. For this reason, the first appointment always lasts 60 minutes.
1. Introduction and Information Session
After an initial introduction and completing your medical file, we start with a detailed information session. During this, we will ask questions to gain a better understanding of your complaint and the factors involved (e.g., Where and when do you feel pain? During which activities do you experience the most difficulty?).
2. Clinical Examination
Next, we conduct a thorough clinical examination. This involves asking you to perform certain movements yourself. We then observe how your joints move when we perform the movements without your assistance. We also apply pressure to or stretch muscles to see how your body responds. You will be asked to sit or lie on the treatment table for this. Additional tests may be performed if necessary. This allows us to establish a clear diagnosis.
3. Treatment Plan and Therapy
We then develop a treatment plan, which we discuss with you. After this, the actual treatment begins.
4. Home Exercise Program and Follow-Up Appointment
At the end of the session, we review your home exercise program, answer any remaining questions, and schedule a follow-up appointment.

We are open from Monday to Friday. You can visit us in the morning, afternoon, or evening. We are closed on weekends. To get a better idea of when you can come in, it’s best to check our online calender.
We recommend wearing loose or athletic clothing for your first appointment. If necessary for your treatment, we will provide you with additional clothing instructions.
There is a changing room for men and one for women, both equipped with shower facilities. You can securely store your belongings in the available lockers.
The clinic is located on the second floor and is accessible via a spacious elevator. Are you a wheelchair user? Please mention this when booking your appointment so your therapist can take it into account and, if needed, guide you to the clinic.
If your mobility does not allow you to visit the clinic (e.g., immediately post-surgery), we can provide treatment at your home. We offer home visits within a 2 km radius. For treatments beyond this distance, we are happy to refer you to a colleague.
The clinic is located at Van Geertstraat 81, 2140 Antwerpen, behind the Antwerp Zoo. Parking is very convenient, as you can park your car or two-wheeler for free in a lot near the clinic.
No. If you achieve your goals after a few sessions, we can conclude your treatment plan earlier in consultation with you.
A doctor’s prescription is valid for up to 2 months from the date indicated on the prescription. The first physiotherapy treatment must therefore take place within this period.
Call or send us an email to cancel or reschedule your appointment.
If you are unable to attend and cancel at least 24 hours in advance, the reserved time will not be charged.
Our therapists do not follow the convention. This means we are not bound to the standard RIZIV rates. We made this choice to ensure we can continue to dedicate enough time, attention, and the highest quality care to all our patients. Quality is always our top priority, and this decision helps us safeguard it.
If you are entitled to increased reimbursement, all therapists will apply the rates as determined in the convention.
Would you like to know what this means for your specific situation? Please don’t hesitate to contact us.
A physiotherapy treatment at the practice costs €44 and lasts on average 30 minutes. In addition to the treatment itself, you will receive a personalized exercise program to support your recovery. We will also continue to follow up with you after the session to ensure that you make optimal progress. You will receive partial reimbursement through your health insurance fund and supplementary insurance.
For home visits, a travel fee of €10 will be charged.
A doctor-referred physiotherapy evaluation, including a report for the physician, costs €60.
For patients with increased reimbursement (preferential scheme), a third-party payment system applies. This means you only pay the co-payment, which ranges between €1.38 – €2.50 per 30-minute treatment.
Note: Appointments for patients with increased reimbursement after 7:00 PM are also charged at the standard rate. Which means the co-payment ranges between €13.72 – €14.86 per 30-minute treatment.
You can consult the full list of rates and co-payments here.
The reimbursement from the health insurance fund depends on your status, your condition, and the type of treatment session. You can check this directly with your health insurance fund, or we can explain it to you during your consultation.
You can also consult the reimbursement details via this link.
Preferably, you pay by debit card. It is still possible to pay in cash.
Patients WITHOUT increased reimbursement
After a few sessions, you will receive a certificate from us. With this certificate, you can obtain partial reimbursement from your health insurance fund. If you prefer, we can also provide the certificate after every session upon request.
Patients WITH increased reimbursement
We automatically apply a third-party payer arrangement. This means you only pay the co-payment, so you don’t have to pay large amounts upfront. We handle the reimbursement part directly with your health insurance fund. Therefore, you will not receive a certificate.
How do you know if you have an increased allowance?
If you have an increased reimbursement, the number on your health insurance stickers ends with the digit “1” (XX1/XX1).
If you request it, we apply a third-party payer arrangement for work accidents, provided you can give us approval from your insurer.
This means you only pay the co-payment, and we invoice your insurer directly.
In this case, it is also necessary to provide us with your insurance company’s details and your policy and/or contract number.
Every person and every complaint is unique. Therefore, it is difficult to say in advance how many treatments you will need. We understand that you would like to have an approximate idea. During your first appointment, your therapist will provide an indication of the expected recovery time and treatment frequency.
Your therapist will regularly evaluate your progress and keep you informed about the expected remaining treatment period. When appropriate and at your request, we use various treatment techniques that can help shorten the recovery time.
Of course! We consider it very important that you feel comfortable with the therapist treating you. If you wish to change therapists after a few sessions, we are open to that. To provide the best possible care, you will generally be treated by the same therapist. In exceptional cases, deviations may occur.
Each therapist also has varying expertise in certain conditions and treatment techniques. If you don’t have a preference, we will assign a therapist based on this expertise. Feel free to contact us to find out which therapist is the best match for you and your condition.
It is possible to experience temporary increased pain after a treatment, but this does not always occur.
After manual therapy and manipulations in particular, you may notice a temporary worsening of your symptoms. Side effects can include increased muscle soreness, stiffness, headaches, and a heavy, fatigued feeling. For most patients, these reactions last less than 24 hours.
After dry needling, muscles may feel fatigued and stiff. This reaction often occurs immediately after treatment and typically lasts a few hours. After 24 hours, these symptoms usually subside, and the muscles will feel more relaxed. For some people, the discomfort may last longer.
In rare cases, bruising may occur around the treated area, along with headaches, general malaise, and/or dizziness.
We recommend applying warmth to the treated muscles in the hours following treatment (e.g., hot water bottle, cherry pit cushion).
After exercise therapy, you may experience muscle soreness and a “burning” or stiff sensation. This usually appears 24 to 72 hours after the session and is harmless. It is advisable to stay active but avoid intense exercise while symptoms persist.
If you are concerned about your reaction after treatment, do not hesitate to contact us.
Yes and no. Our therapists are specially trained and will recommend the treatment techniques that are most beneficial for you. Your therapist will, of course, discuss these techniques with you first. When the same result can be achieved using different techniques, your therapist will ask which method you prefer.
Absolutely. If you have an unused prescription, simply bring it with you and inform us during your first session that you have previously been treated by another physiotherapist.
If the other physiotherapist has already carried out treatments using your prescription, we will need a copy of the doctor’s prescription and the certificate (or the date of the certificate) provided by the previous physiotherapist.
If this is not entirely clear, we will assist you during your first session to complete all the necessary paperwork!
