Dry Needling

Targeted muscle relief for pain and tension

Dry needling is a form of therapy in which we treat tense muscles by targeting so-called trigger points.
These are painful knots in your muscles that do not relax properly and can cause complaints, sometimes with radiating pain.

What else should you know

We use a very fine, sterile needle to penetrate deep into the muscle.
This triggers a brief reflex in the muscle, after which it usually relaxes immediately.
In this way, pain, tension, and movement restrictions are reduced.

Most people hardly feel the prick.
Sometimes the muscle briefly contracts, this is normal.
After the session, the muscle may feel a bit stiff or heavy, but this usually subsides quickly.

Dry needling is often useful for:

  • Muscle pain or stiffness
  • Tendon inflammations (such as tennis elbow or golfer’s elbow)
  • Headaches related to muscle tension
  • Scars and local hardenings
  • Chronic muscle tension or fibromyalgia
